How to Hold the Cube

Choose a current Up / Front / Right reference: the face on top, the face toward you, and the face on your right.

While doing one move or a formula, keep that reference stable unless you intentionally whole-cube rotate or regrip. After a whole-cube rotate, your new Up / Front / Right become the reference.

To turn one face, stabilize the cube body that is not turning — usually around center areas that are not blocking the moving layer — then push or pull only the moving layer 90°.

Examples: for R, steady the left/middle body and turn the right layer. For U, steady the lower two layers and turn the top layer. For F, steady the back/side body and turn the front layer.

Smooth finger tricks are optional. Plain two-handed turning is perfectly fine for learning.
