Case recognition

  • Sune (fish)

    Sune (fish): exactly one corner on the top face shows yellow up, with the three yellow side stickers connecting into a "fish body" — the whole shape looks like a small fish.

    Build the one-yellow-up Sune (fish) case.

    Rotate the U layer to put the fish head (the yellow-up corner) at the front-left corner (between the L and F faces).

    Sune · orient in one step

    With the fish head at front-left, do one Sune (R U R' U R U2 R') to finish corner orientation.

    Exactly one corner on the top face shows yellow up; the other three corners show yellow on their sides.

    The yellow-up corner is the "fish head", and the three yellow side stickers connect into a "fish body" — the whole shape looks like a small fish.

    The Sune formula R U R' U R U2 R' is one of the most-used OLL formulas. Memory aid: the first four moves R U R' U alternate, and the last three are R U2 R'.

  • Anti-Sune (reverse fish)

    Anti-Sune (reverse fish): exactly one corner on the top face shows yellow up (one-up, same as Sune); the difference is the side yellow stickers point the opposite way, so the whole shape looks like a reversed fish.

    Build the one-yellow-up Anti-Sune (reverse fish) case.

    Rotate the U layer to put the reverse fish head (the yellow-up corner) at the front-left corner (between the L and F faces).

    Anti-Sune · orient in one step

    With the reverse fish head at front-left, do one Anti-Sune (R U2 R' U' R U' R') to finish corner orientation.

    Exactly one corner on the top face shows yellow up; the other three corners show yellow on their sides (one-up, same as Sune).

    The difference from Sune is the "tail" direction: the side yellow stickers point the opposite way, so the whole shape looks like a reversed fish.

    The Anti-Sune formula R U2 R' U' R U' R' is the inverse of Sune. The U2 is on the second move (Sune's U2 is on the fifth).

  • Two · same-face (Headlights)

    Two · same-face (Headlights): two corners on the top face show yellow up and are adjacent; the two non-up corners have their yellow stickers facing the same side face (like a pair of headlights).
